We have been working on our cross country ski and snowshoeing trails. We have cleared dead and downed trees, made a couple of small detours to avoid logging snarls and hung flagging tape to ensure the trail is clearly discerned from the surrounding woods. Skip, Kathryn and I took a trip around the “Lollipop Loop” – so named due to his shape. While Skip and I snowshoed, Kathryn skied to the top of Kirkland’s hill and then donned snowshoes for the loop part of the trail. She slid on a pair of NEOS overshoes over her ski boots. On the return trip she went back to ski boots and skis in order to enjoy the long slide/glide down Kirkland’s hill.
